Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch Hills is situated in the Vlottenburg area and at fisrt was the Vlottenburg cellar, but changed their name in 2003, because their grapes don’t just come from the Vlottenburg area. Now they are Stellenbosch Hills Wines.
What makes Stellenbosch Hills so unique is that they offer people a Biltong and Wine or a Nuts and Wine experience. What that mean is that for R35 you can taste 5 different kinds of Biltong/Nuts paired up with 5 different kinds of wines. Each wine and biltong/nuts pairing was chosen so that it brings out the best in the wine.
Stellenbosch Hills have 4 white wines, with the Sauvignon Blanc standing out from the rest, 6 red wines, the Pinotage won gold at the Michelagelo Awards, and then they have a very sweet Rosè, and their specialty is their Muscat de Hamburg. Stellenbosch Hills is the only cellar in South Africa that makes that dessert wine and you can only buy it at the cellar itself.
