Circe Launches provide short boat tours from Hout Bay (15 minutes from Cape Town) over to Duiker Island (more accurately labelled 'Seal Island'). The best views of Seal Island and of the seals is from up top and what a sight - thousands of seals collected on this small island. It's incredible watching the seals jump off the rocks and how they are playing in the water.
You'll be able to get some great photos and it is a refreshing way to spend an hour on the water. After all it's not every day you get to see that number of seals and if you´re lucky whales and dolphins. We had no such luck but maybe next time.
Trips last around an hour and run from the main harbour at Hout Bay (past Mariner´s Wharf), daily at 9.30 am and 10.15 am or every hour throughout the day in December and January.
