The helicopter charter operation at Cape Town International is a diverse and multi-divisional helicopter company operating 22 helicopters, 8 of these being our own assets. To date, Base4 Helicopters is widely regarded and experienced in both on and off-shore operations using a variety of single and twin engine helicopters.
We have serviced, or are currently servicing, ongoing helicopter operations in Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, Madagascar, the Antarctic as well as various locations in South Africa. Aerial filming applications and platforms, fire fighting, dedicated EMS aero-medical evacuation, external load operations, game capture, flood relief, security (surveillance & tracking) VVIP Charters, surf rescue and offshore salvage and vessel support are but a few of the many types of helicopter operations we are capable of performing on a daily basis.

Since the inception of Base 4 Aviation we have focused on tourism and charter related work. Our aim was always to open an operation at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town; The Tourist Centre for the Western Cape, receiving in excess of 2million visitors per year.
In July 2008, we were offered the opportunity to take over the operation of Peninsula Executive Helicopters. After an intense renovation of the premises, taking over the fleet of helicopters and re-appointing key personnel, we started operating in September 2008.
Our focus is to give more for less, a 5* experience without the huge price tag changing the standards of helicopter tourism. In addition to the normal Peninsula Flights ranging from 15-60 minutes, we have created 10 One Day Adventures that give our guests the opportunity to explore the Western Cape with a range of exciting and luxurious activities. Our packages include Hunting, Game Drives, Quad Bike Adventures, Shark Cage Diving, Fly Fishing and Wine Tasting in the different Wine Regions as well as a range of Harley-Davidson and Helicopter Combination trips.
We work closely with 5* Hotels & Resorts for Airport to Hotel and return transfers, combining them with scenic flights for added value.
