The Waiting Room

The Waiting Room on Long Street is always a safe bet. With an eclectic, often international, crowd, well priced drinks, two outdoor sections with great views, and some of the city's best DJs and musos, it should always feature in a Long Street crawl.
To locals it feels as if this bar has been around for years, and it's become a familiar stomping ground for many local revellers and lovers of the good life. What started out as an actual waiting room for the popular Royale Eatery just downstairs has turned into one of the city's most popular and vibey bars, serving up well-priced drink to perhaps one of the more dynamic and cosmopolitan crowds of any bar on Long Street.
Much of the charm of the Waiting Room lies in the unpretentious, no-frills but still classy atmosphere, mixed with some of the freshest music from top local bands and DJs, cheap drinks, and, if you venture out onto the balcony, or better, the spectacular rooftop deck, the views and fresh air.
There's always something on the go at the Waiting Room, and even when there are no organised events, there's a good enough mix of local and foreign visitors just looking for a laid back good time, or to get down on the dance floor for a few numbers, to make it an interesting, and most-likely very late, night on the town.
