Itinerary: This is the average itinerary for this product. STOP One: We will begin our day at: KANONKOP WINE ESTATE, R44, Elsenburg, Stellenbosch 7607, South Africa. One of South Africa's premier wine estates named for the Canon situated atop the mountaintop that used to herald the arrival of ships in Cape Town Harbour centuries ago. Focusing on red wine, especially South Africa's indigenous varietal. (Pinotage). Kanonkop was the first Estate in South Africa to receive the perfect score of 100 points for their 2015 Paul Sauer Bordeaux Blend. Duration: 1 hour Stop Two: L'AVENIR COUNTRY LODGE Off R44, Klapmuts Road, R44, Stellenbosch 7599, South Africa. The finest cheese and wine combo you'll ever try! A Master Class! The tasting is done outside, near a lake, and includes Champagne. Duration: 1 hour Stop Three: OLDENBURG VINEYARD, Zevenrivieren Road, Banghoek Valley, Stellenbosch 7600, South Africa. Oldenburg Vineyards, which is probably one of South Africa's most gorgeous vineyards, with breathtaking views of the vines and surrounded by a mountain Amphitheater. Stop Four: RUST EN VREDE WINE ESTATE, Stellenbosch 7599 South Africa; Stellenbosch 7600 South Africa We stop for lunch at their sister estate, Guardian Peak, which has stunning views of the wine area. All palates are catered for, including vegans and vegetarians (for own account). With optional stop at Rust en Vrede itself (time permitting). Rust en Vrede is known for its cabernet sauvignon and syrah of high quality. Their full bodied wines, grown, made and bottled at the estate are made possible due to the rich terroir around below the stellenbosch mountain. Our final destination of the day is at Meerlust, a historical vineyard owned by the Mybergh family's eighth generation. We undertake a tasting in their old barrel room, which is steeped in history and features Cape Dutch architecture. Meerlust was the first estate to create a Bordeaux blend in South Africa in 1980, and they are well-known for their award-winning wines all over the world. Duration: 40 minutes.
