Continue to Cape Point and enjoy a scrumptious lunch before setting out to explore the Cape Point Nature Reserve, which forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom World Heritage Site. Opt to take the Flying Dutchman Funicular to the top of Cape Point (own cost) and enjoy a brilliant view of the lighthouse, which was constructed in 1859, as well as False Bay. Learn more about the history of Vasco Da Gama and Bartolomeu Dias, who named the area “Cape of Storm” in 1488. Enjoy a leisurely walk along some nature trails. There is an optional hike from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope. The hike takes about 40 minutes and is another great addition to a day outdoors.
